In May 2009 I organised, produced and directed a new burlesque club event called Theatre of the Divine. I produced all the promotional material for the club, including the logo, flyer and poster designs and custom made club stamp, and was also responsible for booking the venue, burlesque performers, still and video photographers, and stage equipment. I also stage managed the show and performed myself!
The centre-piece for the night was a large-scale light installation in the shape of the club logo – a tattoo art style sacred heart emblazoned with the word '‘DIVINE’'. I designed the light based on the logo, specifying precise details about its construction including the exact models of Turbolite Cabochon bulbs, the hot rod style glitter paint job and the special flash sequencing of the bulbs. I commission specialist lighting workshop Remco Signs to produce the sign for me especially for the event, and also displayed the sign at my degree show at Chelsea College of Art & Design.
